ULTRA VIOLET

OUTFIT: GHOST LABEL | SHOES: JESSICA RICH COLLECTION

Pantone announced 'ultra violet' as the colour of the year 2018. On that note, the Milla Jovovich movie Ultraviolet was light years ahead of its' time set in 2078 & of course, I'm an addict for virus outbreak movies & my crystal colour is amethyst so when I saw this stunning grand hue in Ghost Label's purple velvet track suit with organza trim, I just had to add it to my purple series.

I chose to pair my ultra violet track suit with perspex pumps to show off my purple pedi, a sparkled purple lip & no accessories because that would be TOO much purple. Lol.

We've seen this symbolic Prince-ly shade in Purple Reign, in the age of Warhol & in the velveteen robes of Kings & Queens representing a sense of royalty & majestic elegance. Now, this cosmo purple has taken over menswear, Gucci runways & the three C's of trends: cars, cosmetics & clothing.

The New York Times states "The future is ... purple" so achieve grapeness & add this ultra violet beam to your wardrobe!

COAT & LEGGINGS: GHOST LABEL | SANDALS: ALDO

A mud & mascara type of girl is one who can fuse the girly & the tough. Wearing your boyfriend's or your brother's jacket is a trend but if you do want to pull off this look, you have to add some feminine touches to the masculine look.

   1. When you have one oversized statement piece of clothing, the rest should be tight fitting. Baggy and baggy never works.

   2. Accentuate your feminine touch with high stilettos or sandals.

   3. Always show some skin when wearing a men's piece to exude sexuality.

   4. Keep it minimal. One camo printed piece should be paired with a minimalistic colour.

Ghost Label creates original jackets, one-of-a-kind pieces. I paired my men's oversized camo print coat with rich & luxe velvet leggings, Aldo velvet sandals & a peek-a-boob tube top that shows a hint of under cleavage.

CAMO PARKA: GHOST LABEL | SUEDE BOMBER: UNKNOWN | TOP: VINTAGE | SKIRT: RIVER ISLAND | BOOTIES: SIMMI SHOES | SUNGLASSES: RAY BAN

Camo made a hot comeback this year in bold camouflage threads showcasing different colours, straying away from the traditional green on green, green on brown print all over the runways. Kylie just added camo caps to her online shop, selling camo everything from sweatpants to bikinis & even lighters. The print is officially back.

The ultimate key to the camouflage print is to keep it minimal & wear it in moderation. Choose one army printed piece & layer it to give it that utilitarian edge. Feminine accessories give camo a touch of fragility from the strengthening power this fabric brings representing clever protection in military tactical history. Transformed to fashion today, this look is far from blending in & stand out pieces of army print are in.

Camo print is part of the military trend & it is officially a fashion-must-have after Lutz Huelle 2017 Spring Ready-To-Wear showcased a range of colour lined camo print jackets.

The interest in menswear is at an all time high for trendy women everywhere with 'oversize' infiltrating all jackets. I chose to pair my oversized water-repellent, wind-resistant camouflage Ghost Label ASSASSIN Parka with a vintage buckle turtle-tank with cut outs & nickel grommet features that compliment the grommets on my Simmi Booties, a suede fern green bomber, & my River Island khaki snakeskin split-front pencil skirt. The tailored skirt adds that feminine edge I was talking about. Altuzurra 2017 RTW made the snake skin/python fabric a must-have this season, pairing the textured fabric with different prints as I have done here. Where did I find this military base to shoot; well that's my best kept secret, let's just say I had to camouflage with my backdrop to get in!

The unique colours of this red & green army makes it a killer statement outerwear piece for that tom-boyish trend.

"This bold red infusion into the classical camo print conjures up images of a victor coming back from war covered in the blood of his enemies." Ghost Label

This look is trends on trends on trends. Mesh socks with military ankle booties, layering a bomber jacket with a hoodie, animal prints, unique cut-outs, & camouflage.

NEW DELHI & PUNJAB PHOTO DIARY

Chai lattes; a perfect start to this trip. Landed in New Delhi. Good morning from one of the most populated cities in the world. Day 1: straight to the shops. Fancy trucks everywhere. Shopping at Frontier in Rajouri Garden. Great service, great outfits, great soft drinks. Turban display. Traffic. Fresh coconut water. Heading to Chandigarh. Home sweet home. Lawn party with the family. Visiting the rock garden in Chandigarh. It was created by Nek Chand, who worked on it in secret for 10 years before revealing what he was doing. Figures made of broken plates and cups and even broken bangles. He is truly talented. Wearing a Marciano dress with Tom Ford bag, Chanel flats, Dior shades & Indian bangles. Kiran in a Marciano jumpsuit, Louis Vuitton bag, River Island flats & Dolce & Gabbana shades. Chocolate ice cream to cool down. Back home. It's looking like a pool day. Having cold coffee and a great read with Aishwarya Rai on the cover in the garden. Movie night. Fast & The Furious 7. Talk about leg room! Visited the rose garden in Chandigarh as well. Beautiful. Sketches of the whole family. I think Kiran's looks the best. Wearing a Ghost Label 'Taj Mahal' top, cobalt pants, Saint Laurent pumps & matching chunky bracelets. Kiran wearing an Indian print maxi dress with gold jewelry attached & Miu Miu stone pumps. Tried a McSpicy Paneer: when in India! Road trip to Moga & Ludhiana. Wearing a printed & embellished maxi dress, Tom Ford bag, River Island flats & a Indian headpiece. Kiran in a Mango maxi dress, Saint Laurent bag & Hermes bracelet. Walking around in Moga. Fruit market roadside. Visiting a family friend's house in Moga. Back in Chandigarh after a long drive. Beautiful scenery and moment of workers on the farm. Auto rickshaw ride around Chandigarh before heading to Agra & Jaipur in the morning.

Another India Photo Diary coming up soon.
